(1) 1/2” open end wrench
7/16” open end wrench
Phillips screw driver
Tape measure
90 degree square
Hardware Included:
(1) Fully assembled pickup cover (with front clamps and Velcro straps attached)
(2) 5/16” carriage bolts
(2) 5/16” nuts and washers
(2) 5/16” 1 3⁄4”SS bolts
(14) 5/16” Washers
(2) Keys
(4) 1⁄4” x 2” bolts
(4) 1⁄4” nylon nuts
(16) 1⁄4” Washers
(2) Rail clamps for mounting struts

Steps 1Thru 20

1) Thoroughly clean bed rails and top of tailgate.
Reds Beds recommends waxing beds rails prior
to installation.

2) Remove the folded cover from the box and lay the cover on the pickup box next to the cab. Unfold the pickup cover until it folds over the tailgate.

3) Push the cover forward until the cover fits snug against the tailgate. Do not allow the cover to “ride up” on the tailgate. The cover should lay flat.

4) Center the pickup cover on the bed rails using a tape measure.

5) Using the provided keys, lock the cover into the stake holes. Bend the tongue as necessary to
achieve a snug fit. When adjusted properly pressure should need to be applied downward as the key is turned. Apply a thread locking agent to ensure the bolt doesn’t back out.

6) Verify the cover extends to the front of the bed,
but not touching the cab of the truck.

7) Lay down the front panel and clamp the 3” wide clamps to the front bed rail.

8) Tighten the clamps to the bed rail until very
tight. Be sure to tighten backing nut so that the bolt will not back off.

9) Ensure the rear of the cover still fits the tailgate and the locks are still working properly. Further adjust if necessary.

10) Tighten the (3) # 10 screws until the panel
does not move.

11) Install the carriage bolts thru the (2) square holes and fasten underneath with the hook adapters.

12) Install the washer under the hook adapter
and thread the nut up the bolt hand tight. If your cover uses cables to fasten the carriage bolt
then attach the “S” hook thru the cargo hold
toward the bottom of the bed and loop the
other end around the hook adapter on the carriage bolt.

13) With help from someone, tighten the nut until the cover starts to bow.

14) Unlock the cover and fold until it is standing upright at 90 degrees using the 90 degree square.

15) Install the 1” end of the struts into the lower holes on the brackets using the 1⁄4” bolts,
washers, and nuts. Tighten until snug.

16) Place pin thru the middle of the strut. Swing
the fully extended strut out until the bottom hole
in the 7/8” struts is centered in the bed rail. This
is the location to mount the rail clamp.

17) Attach the 7/8” strut to the rail clamps using
the remaining 5/16” bolt and (7) washers.
Tighten until snug. Repeat on other side.

18) Remove pins from the struts and lower the cover. Install pins in the upper hole of the brackets and slide under the bed rails.

19) Unfold again and push the pins under the
bed rails.

20) Unfold until cover is over the tailgate and
lock cover.

Congratulations! You have just installed a cover like no other on the market.

Reds Beds LLC recommends that you wash
your cover at least once a week with detergent soap. Waxing and buffing should be done once
a month to keep that
